The George Parness Suffern Community Center is located at 41 Washington Avenue and hosts many Community Activities.
Some of our senior citizen programs include:
Senior citizen club meetings, exercise programs, such as Chair Yoga & our Stay Fit Program (see below for more information) . We also offer a Senior Art Class twice a month. All of these programs are free for Suffern Senior Citizens.
The Community Center also hosts youth activities, such as:
DARE Dances for Ramapo Central School District students in 5th and 6th Grades. Schedule is located on Suffern Police DARE calendar.
LEAD (Life Exists Against Drugs) - A night of music for Ramapo Central School District High School Students
The Suffern Community Center hosts Community Blood Drives, and Village sponsored events.

STAY FIT EXERCISE PROGRAM FOR VILLAGE SENIORS
This program is a circuit training system, and is available for use by residents of the Village of Suffern, who are 60 years old or older. Interested seniors are required to provide Identification, including residency and age, fill out and sign a Registration Form, and a Release approved by their physician, and attend one, short orientation session with a community center staff member. The information packet can be picked up at the Suffern Recreation Department, (61 Washington Avenue), top floor, Mondays thru Friday, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. You may also request that the packet be sent to you by calling 357-7943 or by sending an e-mail to email@example.com
You are required to bring the signed packet to the first session you choose to attend. A session lasts a half hour. The equipment will be available for use on Mondays from 11:00 am-1:00 pm and from 4:00-6:00 pm, and on Thursdays from 9:00am - 12:00pm.
